In the summer of 2020 (oh, that fateful year) I published a poem titled “Can You Give Us a Smile?” to Maggie Zine, an online and print magazine that highlights social justice themes and feminist issues.
This was a poem I wrote to encapsulate the feeling I get, as a woman, when I’m told to smile on demand for misogynistic reasons. Thank you for taking the time to share in my words, I’m hoping to publish more pieces of poetry soon. Let me know what you think!
